With agriculture driving around 80 percent of this deforestation, companies, governments and other stakeholders are making important commitments and investments in this area, recognizing that UNDP has an important convening role to play, the organization set-up the Green Commodities Programme (GCP).

Since 2014, GCP runs the Green Commodities Community as a successful community of practice that connects and supports over 100 practitioners from government, private sector and civil society.

The Community fosters a spirit of mutuality and cooperation through individual support, group work, face to face encounters, personal and professional development, using virtual workshops, and learning support. In addition, we organize one major annual face-to-face learning event – the Good Growth Conference. The conference brings together practitioners from across the globe, and has a diverse multi-stakeholder participation.

The recording below is an example of a virtual workshop, moderated by Lise Melvin, GCP’s Senior Programme Advisor, which is the kick-off of a 12-month programme of facilitated dialogue and learning inquiries focused on Operationalizing National Commodity Platforms.
